New Special Interest Group for EMDR and Pain

The Association has approved the EMDR and Pain SIG to re-form.  There is some emerging evidence for the use of EMDR for persistent (or chronic) pain and certainly many of us may have used EMDR with people with trauma and pain in our practice successfully.  It is hoped that by forming this group, we can meet 4 times per year to:

- Explore the evidence base for EMDR and persistent pain
- Share practice based evidence for EMDR and pain
- Learn new skills in how to incorporate EMDR in to our practice when working with individuals with persistent pain
- If approval could be sought from the Research Committee, we could explore the possibility of developing a research study to contribute to the evidence base for using EMDR with persistent pain.
